Hydraulic Core Stacking Table with Platform

Precision in Work

The original name in Italian is Isola di Lavoro per Impilamento Lamierini Nucleo.

Other names: Work island for stacking core sheets, Work platform for stacking core lamination.

Hydraulic Core Stacking Table with Platform shortly – HCST+P, consists from two parts:

  1. Hydraulic Core Stacking Table for lamination.
  2. Platform for walking of operators and for materials.

HCST has been designed for the assembly of laminations with or without holes. It is equipped with strikers, pins, and millimeter striker to be assembled with the steplap system and with slots to bind the finished core before tipping it into a vertical position. The 90° platform tilting is powered by a hydraulic system.

Our HCST is the culmination of advanced engineering and innovative design. The robust hydraulic system at its core ensures controlled and seamless tilting, making it easier than ever to manage the components of your transformers. With this cutting-edge solution, your workflow will be optimized, and overall productivity boosted. Click here to watch a video-presentation on our YouTube channel.

General Description

The core packing platform is a mechanical and electro-hydraulic system intended for the assembly and compaction of the magnetic cores of electrical transformers. Built to accommodate different sizes and core configurations, this machine ensures maximum assembly accuracy, operational efficiency, and operator safety.

Thanks to the integration with manual systems for the control of the main movements, it allows us to reduce errors and increase productivity with the consequence of improving the magnetic quality of the final core.

The mounting base of the central column will be in a fixed position, while the side columns can be moved for the assembly of cores with different sizes. The movement of the side columns will take place through the use of side handwheels, trapezoidal screws and mechanical connection system.

Functional Objectives

  • Facilitate stacking and assembly of magnetic laminations.
  • Apply controlled force to achieve uniform lamination pack density.
  • Allow lifting, tilting and swivelling operations to adapt to production needs.
  • Reduce manual intervention and downtime during assembly.
  • Ensure an ergonomic and safe workstation for the operator.

Mechanical Structure

  • Supporting frame in welded and painted S355 steel , with anti-corrosion treatment.
  • Worktop in wear-resistant laminated steel, with flat surface and side guides.
  • Fixed central column, designed to support the central pack of the core.
  • Movable side columns, sliding by means of hand-wheels with trapezoidal screws.
  • Synchronized mechanical system for symmetrical movement of the side columns.
  • Roller or linear guides to ensure smoothness and no backlash.

Construction Description

The packing platform looks like a structure raised from the ground by about 1000 mm, energetically anchored by dowels with chemical anchoring to avoid any displacement during lifting and overturning of the mounted core.

It features a series of column supports so that you can tie the newly formed core and keep it in place during moving operations. On the side it has attachments to mount the fixing bands necessary to hold the core against falling (the bands are excluded from the supply).

The platform also has a base for supporting the sheets coming from the cutters ready to be
assembled and related to the central column. For the remaining columns and the lower yoke, the supports will be external and excluded from this supply.

Tipping

  • For tipping, the equipment uses 4 hydraulic pistons driven by a hydraulic power unit with manual operation.
  • The control unit will be equipped with a wired control so that lifting can be controlled from a safe distance. The safety laser barrier system is available but not included in the scope of delivery.
  • When the electric motor of the hydraulic power unit is switched on, a two-tone acoustic signal will always be in operation to warn of the imminent lifting command.

Reference Standards

  • Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery)
  • CEI EN 60204-1 (Safety of electrical systems on board the machine)
  • ISO 12100 (General principles of safe design)
  • IEC EN 50588-1 (Efficiency requirements for distribution transformers)
  • IEC 60076-1 (Power transformers – General requirements)

Air Cushion Pallet

In case of need, this equipment could be constructed with the base that matches requested dimensions of Air Cushion Pallets.

Moving transformers on air bearings has proven to save time and money in transformer production. Transformer manufacturers no longer rely on costly mechanical lift equipment and overhead cranes to perform the handling maneuverability accomplished with air bearings aka Aero-Casters. Air film technology enables increased reliability and safety and at a fraction of the cost of other more expensive methods.
